Donovan Designs was founded in 1998 as a side business between two friends. We both had full-time corporate careers but enjoyed dabbling in design in our spare time. We decided to have an open house to see what our friends and families thought of our creations. With lots of positive feedback and encouragement we decided to "go for it," and formed Donovan Designs, named after our dorm at the University of Kentucky, where we met in 1990. We added more products, created a website and booked our first official business trip to New York City for the National Stationery Show.
Almost three decades later, we are still here, still learning and still best friends! Although a lot has changed. Our biggest change came in 2024 when we merged with another local printer, Magnum Press. Magnum Press had been a printing partner to Donovan Designs since the beginning. Magnum Press had recently changed ownership and upon meeting the new owner, Justin Clarke we started talking about ways to streamline both businesses. We decided merging the two made the most sense and in June of 2024, we made it official! Business has continued as usual, designing, printing, packaging and shipping stationery, notepads and embroidered gifts but we now have more in house capabilities. Magnum Press is a leader in business printing. From custom design to professional printing, Magnum Press can create everything your business may need; signs, banners, marketing materials, just to name a few! We also have a full-service embroidery shop in house. We can custom embroider individual items to mass quantities!
This website was primarily created to service our customers who are interested in ordering any of our stationery or gift products, either for themselves, friends or groups. We also work with stores across the country where you can buy our products in person. Look for the bright colors and ribbons! Even though a lot has changed since we started in 1998 many things have not. Our tag line of Simple, Classic, Colorful still stands today and always will. Our goal has always been to offer fun products at reasonable prices with great customer service. All of our products are proudly made in the USA and are packaged and shipped from our warehouse in Worthington, Ohio.
